Let’s face it, we hit the lottery just being born here in America. And just a few miles away from America, children are suffering in the most horrible conditions. There are thousands of orphaned, homeless and abandoned children in Mexico. We saw this first hand and it became readily apparent that we had to find a way to help. We believe that every child’s life has value and holds the same potential, excitement and opportunity as any other life.
We are now partnered with 19 orphanages in B.C. Mexico serving over 1,000 kids. We support these orphanages of B.C., Mexico by raising contributions to provide life sustaining food, clothing, shelter, and with your help we can provide for these children on an ongoing basis and improve the quality of their lives through education and volunteer programs which will help ensure a promising future for them.
Volunteer visits provide these children with much needed love and attention. Visiting these kids is truly a transforming experience, you have opportunity to see firsthand the importance of the work we do. You will see a scared, worried little girl on her first week at an orphanage become lively, inquisitive child upon your return. You have seen a cute little boy that has flourished into an energetic teenager full of hope and dreams.
Many these kids have had a very hard road getting here, like Antonio and Miguel below.
Antonio (above, far left) was found by Mexican authorities after his alcoholic father beat him with a lead pipe and shattered his leg. At the previous home he was at, he was in a wheelchair and they thought that he was developmentally disabled, after be beaten in the head repeatedly by his father. As it turns out, he is mentally healthy and although he still walks with a significant limp, he is doing well in school and happy playing with the other kids thanks to the nurturing environment in this orphanage we serve.
Miguel was found abandoned at a dump as a baby. He was malnurished and suffering from dehaydration. When we first visited Miguel, there wasn’t much hope for survival, a couple years later when we visited, Miguel opened the door and greeted us with a smile on his face.
Today Miguel is a healthy inquisitive child.
Last year the orphan kids were not allowed to play soccer because of league rules. This year they lost their first game 17-0, then in their 2nd game they were down 10-0 at halftime then they got new soccer cleats and uniforms and won the game and won every game after and became the league Soccer Champions. These kids are making good grades and have a bright, hopeful future ahead of them.
These kids need our support for a brighter future. In addition to monthly monetary donations, we need food, clothing, supplies and volunteers. With your generous support today, we will be able to put your dollars to work immediately to help these wonderful children.
